Dr. John C. Wiger
Dr. Wiger is an orthodontic specialist who earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1984 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1990. He received both his orthodontic specialty training and his MS degree in Oral Biology from Baylor University in 1992.
Dr. Wiger is recognized and appreciated for his excellence in orthodontics as well as the gentle and compassionate care of his patients. He has been named over and over again as one of the area's top orthodontists by Washingtonian Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Family Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine.
Dr. Wiger founded Wiger Orthodontics in 1993 and had offices in Ashburn, VA and Potomac Falls, VA. Dr. Wiger has served people from all over Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. He dedicated his practice to providing patients with superior orthodontic care using the very latest technology and medical advances. He has an underlying passion for creating beautiful smiles. Over the last 23 years, he has started and completed thousands of orthodontic cases with dazzling results.
Dr. Wiger is a member of many professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontics, the Southern Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association, to name a few. He has also served as an orthodontic advisor to the Greater Loudoun Study Club, a consortium of dental professionals committed to providing excellent dental care in Northern Virginia.
In May of 2016, Dr. Wiger sold Wiger Orthodontics to spend more time with his family and to focus on direct patient care rather than running a large orthodontic practice. As a testimony to Dr. Wiger's reputation and work ethic most of his staff members had been with him for over a decade, some as long as 17 years. He came to Kingstowne Orthodontics in October of 2016 and we are very fortunate to have such an esteemed and recognized orthodontist to treat our patients.
Dr. Wiger, replaces our former popular and talented orthodontist, Dr. Frances Hamman. After 11 years as our sole orthodontist, she moved back home to Ohio to help care for her ailing father. Dr. Hamman worked closely with Dr. Wiger, in transition, to assure that he was familiar with all of her individual patients and the specifics of their cases.
